Donald Walling, the firm's educa tional consultant. 1 At a meeting in the high school on Monday night Dr. Walling Informed representatives of the parents' committee who will assist In the survey that an accurate house-to-house count of the young children who have not yet begun school Is the first step in the survey. To facilitate the taking of this pre school census of children from birth through the age of six who are not yet in school the Fort Edward dis trict has been divided Into nine sections or neighborhoods by James Etu, chairman of the parents' group with the assistance of James Haas and Frank Sheehan. Assisting in the preschool census are the follow ing nine captains and co-workers.

Various civil defense forces will be activated and will attempt to recover county office. This necessitates each cone director compiling his planning on paper and organizing and training bis command personnel. The schedule of training exercises, which has been approved by the New York State Civil Defense Director, Lt Gen. C. B.

Husbner, follows April 29 and JO, Greenwich; May 30 and 21, Whitehall and Fort Ann; June 19, coordinated exercises with CAP at Warren County airport; July 18 and 16, Granville and Salem (these exercises will find both places having a problem to work out and the County Control Center will be activated to coordinate and direct their aid) August 12 and 13, Cambridge; September 10 and 12, Port Edward and Argyle; October 7 and Kingsbury and Hartford; October 28 ahd 28, the entire county. If tine Granville-Salem combined exercise is successful, the entire oounty will be activated Oct. 29, and will have a common problem to develop. Saddle Club Meets With 40 Attending A supper meeting of the Cross Roads Saddle Club at the Town Hall Saturday evening was attended by 40 persons, including members, their friends and families. Following sup per Miss Wanda Moss showed color movies which she had taken of local gymkanas, the Skidmpre College horse show, and the Saratoga race way. Announcement was made that club members under age 21 have received an Invitation to Join a special saddle horse protect being spon sored by the Saratoga County 4-H Bureau. Marian Hill. Christine Petteys was welcomed as a new member. A meeting to work on articles for the bazaar to be held In May was planned for Saturday. There are over forty boys and girls In this and a good supply of materials with which to make articles for sale Is needed. Parents and friends are reminded that the club would appreciate donation of worn out children socks, used bottle caps, spools, old nylons and new cotton socks in men's sizes 10M or 11.

The picture framing class under Mrs. Fred V. Crossthwaite's direc tion sealed frames at the morning session. She recommended cleaning gilt picture frames by wiping with a mixture of a tablespoon of baking powder and the white of an egg. She also advised placing a thumb tack In back of the lower part of the picture to allow air to circulate behind the frame and prevent accumulation of dust Mrs.
