In September of 1963, Mary and Bernard relocated to Castile, N.Y., where they both attended Elohim Bible Institute. They both graduated from Elohim in 1966 and then began their careers in church ministry. Mary was very active as a Sunday school teacher, VBS teacher, Awana Club leader, choir member and helpmate to her husband in many other capacities. While her husband was a pastor at Indian Lake Baptist Church, Mary worked as a guide at the Oatman, 87, away Sunday, 7,2008, at her in Amherst. Mary was July 16, West N.Y., at home the Saville farm.

They were married almost 59 years. She was also predeceased by a son-inlaw, Rob Mimna, three sisters and four brothers. She is survived by four daughters: Barbara (Reg) Beatty of Queensbury, Deborah Mimna of Amherst, Judy (Owen) Eddy of Castile, N.Y. and Janice (Allan) Monfils of Amherst, one son, Thomas (Cindy) Oatman of Woodbridge, one sister, Majel Winchell of Hudson Falls, N.Y. and one brother, Gordon Saville of Montrose, Colo.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Hopkins QUEENSBURY Geraldine M. Hopkins, 92, formerly of Newcomb Street, went to be with her husband of 61 years, on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, at Indian River Rehabilitation and Health Facility i in Granville. Born on Dec. 1, 1916, in the town of Kingsbury, she was the daughter of George R.

and Myrtle (Dwyer) Canfield. Geraldine attended Hudson Falls High School and was in the first graduating Red Cross class at the Glens Falls Hospital. She worked at the hospital 1 for the American Red Cross, during World War II. On March 31, 1935, Geraldine was married to Scott H. Hopkins at the First Baptist Church Parsonage in Hudson Falls by the late Rev.

Nelson Crossman. Her husband passed away on July 2, 1996. She and her husband had been foster parents to many children for more than 25 years. They were very proud to have taken care of more than 100 children in their many years of service. Geraldine was a member and elder of the West Glens Falls Community Chapel in the town of Queensbury.

She also started and was the first president of the Church Women's Guild. At one time, Geraldine was an active member of the West Glen's Falls Fire Department Auxiliary and the Sandy Hill Rebekah Lodge No. 288. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, William Canfield, her two sisters, Marjorie Henderson Joslyn and Irene Connell and her two stepbrothers, Ralph Doyle and Raymond Doyle. Gwendolyn (Hodges) Vogel SARATOGA SPRINGS Gwendolyn (Hodges) Vogel, of Bryan Street, passed away Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, at the Baptist Retirement Center in Scotia.

She was 96. Born on March 3, 1912, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Louis and Linda (Palmer) Hodges and was a lifelong resident. A graduate of the Saratoga Hospital School of Nursing in 1932, she served her entire career as a registered nurse at Saratoga Hospital, prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Saratoga County Retired Nurses Lunch group and was a member of the Church of St. Peter.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her grandmother, Emma Freebern Hodges, who had raised Gwendolyn, and was the widow of the late Clarence J. Vogel, who John Frederick Latham John Frederick WARRENSBURG John Frederick Latham, 61, of Route 9, passed away Sunday, Dec. 7,2008, at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany following a brief battle with brain cancer. Born on April 8, 1947, in Glens Falls, LATHAM he was the son of the late Fredrick LATHAM Latham and Ruth (Millington) Latham Trenary. He attended the Warrensburg School District.

After high school, he served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. When John returned from overseas, he worked at General Electric in Fort Edward, and later worked as a self-employed contractor and landscaper. John liked to read and loved the outdoors. He loved walking in the Adirondack Mountains, looking for new spots to hunt and fly fish, using flies that he tied himself.

During the winter months, he enjoyed ice fishing. He was a charter member of the Whipple Hunting Club for 23 years. John also loved playing pool and was quite a sharpshooter. He will be missed by the many friends he made in his pool league. He was proud of his land and how he kept it groomed, and enjoyed watching the animals in his backyard.

He loved to work with his hands, and will be missed by many people that he met while working for them. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his youngest sister, Edna Jo "Shilo" Latham; and stepfather, Hugh G. Trenary. Latham John is survived by his former wife of 33 years, Deborah Ann Sherman Latham; two sons: Jeffrey Chadwick Latham and his wife, Diana, of Fort Edward; Jason Benjamin Latham and his companion, Melinda Smith, of Fort Edward; his daughter, Katrina Ann Latham and her Jacque Ecuyer, of Bolton Landing; three sisters: Linda McNeill and her husband, Gerald of Warrensburg; Ethel Desjardin and her husband, Gil, of Vermont; Virginia Latham of Glens Falls; cousin, Carolyn Dorrance, along with several nephews; and Edward Harrington, who was like a special son to John.
