Deeb Alfred II. Blakely I'oG. Vannier HUDSON FALLS Leo G. Vannier, 84, of 3 LaBarge Hudson Falls, died Sunday (Feb. 26, 1978) at Glens Falls Hospital.

He was born May 24, 1893. in Hudson Falls, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Vannier. After retiring from the Portland Cement he worked as a dispatcher for the Hudson Falls Police Department.

Mr. Vannier married the former Eva R. Pouliott Aug. 4. 1914, in Hudson Falls.

He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Mrs. Alvah (Burtrice) Juckett of Granville; a son, John E. of Armonk; two brothers, Ernest of Glens Falls and Murton of South Glens Falls; a sister, Mrs. Francis (Anna) Harley of Fort Edward; eight grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church by the Rev. James McManus. pastor. Interment will be in St.

Paul's Cemetery, Town of Kingsbury. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Carleton Funeral Home, 68 Main St. The family has suggested that memorials be made in the form of contributions to the Fort Edward Rescue Squad. cl Ice Contest Pete Gaddy puts some muscle behind his effort to swiftly spin his auger through the 17-inch-thick ice covering Lake George.

Gaddy took second place in the National Ice Augering Junior Championships over the weekend in Hague. Placing first in the junior competition was Ed Clark. Gerald G. Wood HUDSON FALLS -Gerald G. Wood, 63, of Manlee Hudson Falls, died unexpectedly Sunday (Feb.

26, 1978) at Glens Falls Hospital. He was employed as a machine adjustor at Chase Bag Co. for several years. Mr. Wood was born Feb.

16, 1915, in Hudson Falls, the son of Walter and Mabel (LaPoint) Wood. He married the former Olive Smith on May 10, 1941, in Hudson Falls. A member of the United Methodist Church, he was a former trustee of the church and a member of its Men's Club. He was also a member of Hudson Falls Post 918, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors, besides his wife, include three brothers, Alvin and Leman, both of Hudson Falls, and Clyde of St.

Petersburg, a sister, Mrs. Robert (Mar-jorie) Finch of Glens Falls, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the United Methodist Church by the Rev. Charles A.

Warner, pastor. Interment will be in Moss Street Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Carleton Funeral Home, 68 Main St. The family has suggested that memorials be made in the form of contributions to the United Methodist Church Building Fund.

William II. Haak NORTH CREEK -William H. Haak, 82, a resident of North Creek, died Saturday (Feb. 25, 1978) at Adirondack Tri-County Nursing Home. Born in Germany, he came to the United States in 1899.

Mr. Haak was a veteran of World War I. He is survived by his wife, Ethel L. Haak; three sons, William Jr. of Dolgeville, Richard of St.

Johnsville and Donald of Speculator; three daughters, Mrs. Robert A. (Jane) Brown of North Creek, Mrs. Calvin (Joan) Morrison of Speculator and Mrs. Charles (Betty) Reynolds of Warrensburg; a brother, Fritz of Florida; 21 grandchildren; a greatgrandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Swain Funeral Home, North Creek, by the Rev. Robert Norris and the Rev. A. Butler of the Calvary Bible Church.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m today at the funeral home. 25, 1978) at her home on Route 29. She was born in Schuylerville, the daughter of William and Sara (Niland) Cunningham. Mrs. Hatcher, a graduate of Oneonta State Normal School, taught for several years in the Schuylerville Central School District. She a member and treasurer of the Schuyler Hose Company Auxiliary and a member of Court Stella Maris 396, Catholic Daughters of America.

An active member of the Church of the Visitation, she was a church school teacher and a member of the Rosary Society. Survivors include several cousins. Services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Flynn Bros. Funeral Home, 13 Gates and at 9:30 a.m.

today at the funeral home. Frost M. Phelps POTTERSVILLE Frost M. Phelps, the grandson of Mountain Phelps, the famous Adirondack guide, died Saturday (February 25, 1978) in Glens Hospital following a short illness. His age was 90.

Mr. Phelps was an honorary member of the Pottersville Volunteer Fire Department and a former master of Glendale Lodge 497, Free and Accepted Masons. Four nephews, two stepnieces and a step-nephew survive. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the Barton Funeral Home, Chester-town, by Canon D.

Delos Wampler, administrator of Barry House, Brant Lake. Spring interment will be in Griswald Cemetery, Pottersville. Members of the Pottersville Fire Department and Glendale Lodge 497 conducted services Sunday evening at the funeral home. The weather was expected to result from a northwesterly flow of unstable air continuing through today.

Cold, fair weather with increasing cloudiness was forecast to develop as a high pressure center moved out of the middle Atlantic states into the New York area. Snow is forecast by Tuesday in western areas of the state with a chance of snow in eastern areas. Highs were forecast in the 20s and 30s with lows in the teens. HUDSON FALLS -Gilbert (Gil) Golden, 44, of 10 Eighth Hudson Falls, died unexpectedly Saturday (Feb.

25, 1978) at Glens Falls Hospital. A former employee of Union Camp, he was past president of the United Brotherhood of Paper-makers, Local 15. Mr. Golden was born Nov. 28, 1933, in Albany, the son of Henrietta (Sally) Golden of Menands and the late Charles Golden.

He was a veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of the Hudson Falls Chamber of Commerce. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, the former Phyllis Deyette; four sons, Michael, Jon and Jay, all of Hudson Falls, and Gilbert Jr. of Schenectady; three daughters. Miss Beth Ann Golden and Miss Wendy Golden, both of Hudson Falls, and Mrs. John (Vicki) Culnan of Shenectady; a brother, Frank N.

of Albany; a grandson and several nieces and nephews. Miles SutliffSr. HADLEY Miles Sutliff 63, a life resident of Hadley, died unexpectedly Sunday (Feb. 26, 1978) at Glens Falls Hospital. Born June 16, 1914, he was employed by the Hadley Town Highway Department from 1950 to 1960 when he was elected to serve as superintendent of highways.

He retired in 1976. Mr. Sutliff was a member of the Saratoga County Highway Superintendents Association for several years. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a former member of the Rod and Gun Club of Hadley. Survivors include his wife, the former Eula Deitze; three daughters, Mrs.

John (Dorothy) Reynolds, Mrs. Ann Louise Shattuck and Mrs. R. Scott (Carol) Nelson, all of Hadley; a son, Miles Alton Jr. of Day seven brothers, Clarence and Bernard, both of Day, John, George and Walter, all of Hadley, Ernest of Corinth, and Donald P.

of Lake Luzerne, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services willl be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Brewer Funeral Home, Lake Luzerne, by the Rev. Clifford Burroughs, pastor of the Conklingville Community Church, assisted by the Rev. Thomas Parsons, pastor of the Rockwell Falls Presbyterian Church.

Born March 5, 1898, in Granville, he was the son of John and Ellen (Jones) Lewis. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Ethel Garfield of Boynton Beach, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the McHenry and Roberts Funeral Home, Granville, by the Sturgis Poor-man.

Interment will be at a later date in Mettowee Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Sarah Mrs. Sarah C.

Norton, 91,. of the Glens Falls Home, 178 Warren died Sunday (Feb. 26, 1978) at her home. Born in Clarks Corners, she was the daughter of George and Anna Cary. Mrs.

Norton married the late Lester Whitney in 1908. Mrt Whitney died in 1914. She married Hiram S. Norton in 1923 and resided in Granville from 1923 to 1942. From 1942 until the time of her death, she lived in Glens Falls.

Mrs. Norton studied voice under William Bissell and John Boles and graduated from the Glens Falls Academy. Active in the Glens Falls Society of Friends, she served as clerk for several years. She was also a member of the Adirondack Friends Meeting of South Glens Falls. Survivors include three sons, Maurice Whitney of Sun City Center, J.

Arthur Norton of Glens Falls and Edgar R. Norton of Houghton; a brother, A. Haywood Cary of South Glens Falls; 10 grandchildren; 2 greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mary's Church. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Deeb Cusato and Miss Jean Deeb, both of Glens Falls, and Miss Rosemary Deeb of Warrensburg; two brothers, Jacob of Glens Falls and Anthony of Westminster, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 8:15 tonight at the Potter Funeral Home, 136 Warren St. Spring interment will be in St.

Rose CORINTH Lewis H. Rose, 66, of 106 LaMont Corinth, died unexpectedly Sunday (Feb. 26, 1978) while vacationing in Myrtle Beach, N.C. Born May 26, 1911, in Oneonta, he was graduated from Oneonta High School and Clarkson College of Engineering. Mr.

Rose was employed for several years by the Delaware and Hudson Railway Co; before working as a civil engineer for the International Paper Co. for 18 years, retiring in 1972. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Corinth Lodge 987, Free and Accepted Masons the Tri-County Engineers Society, and the Technical Association of the International Paper Co. Mr. Rose was trustee of the Corinth United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy two sons, Lewis James of Arlington, and John Keefe of Eldora, N.J. and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Densmore Funeral Home, 7 Sherman by the Rev. Keith Snow, pastor of the United Methodist Church, assisted by the Rev.

Lemieux WARRENSBURG -Roger E. Lemieux, 60, of 6 River Warrensburg, died Sunday (Feb. 26, 1978) at Glens Falls Hospital. For the past 28 years, he had been employed by the International Paper Co. in Corinth.

Mr. Lemieux was a member of St. Cecilia's Church. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; two sons, Roger Jr. and Pierre, both of Warrensburg; three daughters, Mrs.

Mary Farrington and Mrs. Denise Lamphier, both of Warrensburg, and Miss Linette Lemieux of -Fort Lauderdale, three sisters; Mrs. Aldea Bolduc, Mrs. Gilbert Martineau and Mrs. Anita Ferdenand; a brother, Theo, all of Canada, and four grandchildren.

McNally was born in Olmstedville, the son of Marguerite (Gallagher) McNally and the late Henry McNally. He was graduated from Minerva Central School. Survivors besides his mother include a son, Michael of Middletown; a daughter, Mrs. Gail A. Sentesz of LaMesa, six sisters, Mrs.

Doris Porter of Newcomb, Mrs. Jean Lucas of Rome, Mrs. Mildred Barmin of Niagara Falls, Mrs. Gertrude Carroll of East Greenbush, Mrs. Helen Reynolds" of Schenectady and Miss Rosemary McNally of Watervliet; a grandson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Church, Olmstedville. Spring interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Irishtown.

25, 1978) at Mary McClellan Hospital, Cambridge, after a long illness. She was born May 15, 1908, in Easton, the daughter of Michael and Bridget (Lyons) Hughes. At one time, Mrs. Connery was employed by the former Dunbarton Thread Co. She was a member of St.

Joseph's Church. Survivors include her husband, Maurice L. Connery; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Jean) Crozier of Greenwich; two brothers, Thomas Hughes of South Argyle and John Hughes of Grafton, N.H.; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Lannon and Mrs.
