1996 HOOF U) PRINT. 69 PRO RODEO FRONTIER FIRST FIRST FRONTIER CIRCUIT PRCA LOSES RECORD HOLDER AND FRIEND 06 A SHIRTS Rex Rounds (above) wrestles a steer during the First Frontier Circuit Finals at the Knickerbocker Arena, Albany, NY. BROADALBIN, NY Rex Henry Rounds, 33, died February 8 at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville after being stricken with a heart attack at home. Born February 9, 1962, in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of Eugene B. Rounds Sr.

of Hudson Falls, NY and LaNeta M. (Demars) Brown of Glens Falls, NY. Rounds lived in Thurman until he entered the Army in 1980. He then lived in Montana for several years until 1988, when he came to Broadalbin, NY. He was a self-employed general contractor from 1983 until 1991, when he became an equine dentist.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all, rodeo. A member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), Rounds traveled with family and friends to rodeos throughout the United States and Canada. Although he was sometimes known to pick up a rope or slide on the back of a bull, Rounds was most commonly known for his competitiveness in the steer-wrestling event. Admired by fellow steer wrestlers, Rounds made his greatest impact in rodeo in 1990 in Culpepper, VA. There, Rounds set a PRCA record by throwing a steer in an incredible 2.9 seconds.

This record still holds today. Often thought of as "tough as nails" by those who knew him, Rounds let his compassionate side show when it came to helping others with their rodeo GIONA RODEO CO ASSOCIATION 1996 Circuit Standings Unofficial results as of BAREBACK RIDING 6.
