Lalor Edward F. Laloc, 73, of 24 Crandall died Thursday (Dec. 23, 1982) at Fort Hudson Nursing Home, Town of Fort Edward, after a short illness. He was born in Glens Falls, Jan. 30, 1909, the son of Edward J.

and Mary (Sullivan) Lalor. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Church and a graduate of St. Mary's Academy. Mr.

Lalor was proprietor of a Mobil station at the corner of Glen and Pine Streets, retiring in 1980 after 40 years in business. He served on the Zoning Baord of Appeals from 1962 to 1979. Survivors include: his wife, Mary (Penor) Lalor; four daughters, Mrs. Donald (Mary) Norton of Glens Falls; Mrs. James (Margaret) Perry of Auburn; Mrs.

Roland (Eileen) Lapaille of Troy and Mrs. John (Anne) Hogan of Clay; 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers, R. Emmett and John Lalor of Glens Falls, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Monday from the Regan and Denny Funeral Home, Quaker Road, and at 9 in St.

Alphonsus Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, South Glens Falls. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Stephen Green, of 1 Division Hudson Falls, at 2:15 p.m. A son to Mr. and Mrs. Michael 0'Sick of 39 Fourth Glens Falls, at 1:09 a.m. Demetra Early Demetra Early, 69, of Fox Farm Road, Queensbury died Thursday (Dec.

23, 1982) at Glens Falls Hospital. Survivors include: her husband, Frederick L. Early; a son, Frederick Early of Glens Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Renee F. Arroyo of Oceanside, a sister, Mrs.

Renee Arena of Denver, and two grandchildren, Mark and Christopher Arroyo of Oceanside, Calif. There will be no calling hours. Cremation will take place at the Gardner Earl Crematory, Troy. Memorial services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Jan.

3 at the Queensbury Methodist Church. The family has suggested that memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the West Glens Falls Rescue Squad. Arrangements are under direction of the Sullivan and Minahan Funeral Home, 67 Park St. Hattie Alexander NORTH: CREEK Mrs. Hattie Alexander, 85, of North Creek died Thursday (Dec.

23, 1982) at Glens Falls Hospital after a long illness. She was the widow of Gordon Alexander. Survivors include: a son, Col. (ret.) Arnold W. Alexander of Maitland, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Services will be conduced at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the North Creek United Methodist Church by the Rev. Joseph Babcock, pastor. Spring interment will be in Union Cemetery, North Creek. Friends may call at -the Swain Funeral Home, North Creek, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Sunday. Dutchess official dies POUGHKEEPSIE (AP) Dutchess County's first county executive, David Schoentag, died here Wednesday. He was 72. The former Beekman supervisor served as chairman of the county Board of Supervisors in 1966 and 1967. Apartment damaged A second floor apartment at 57 Second Glens Falls, was damaged by fire of unknown causes early Thursday.

Firefighters were called to the- two-story house owned by Mary and Eva Swirsky at 5:14 a.m. and found the front bedroom of the upstairs apartment in flames. City police said they received a call from one of the owners, both of whom live downstairs, who reported that she heard an explosion in the upper apartment. The upstairs tenant, Robert Burch, was not at home at the time of the blaze. The owners escaped their apartment unharmed.

The upstairs apartment sustained considerable damage from fire, smoke and water while the Swirsky apartment had minor water damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation. 2 hurt in crash in city Two people were in "fair" condition Thursday at Glens Falls Hospital as a result of a late Wednesday night accident in the city. Donna Decrescenzo, 30, of 147 Ridge Glens Falls, and Peter Ruscio, 25, of 2 Elizabeth Lake George, were injured in a two-car accident at the intersection of Dix Avenue and Ridge Street about 11:20 p.m. Both suffered head injuries.

City police said the Decrescenzo woman was driving west on Dix Avenue when she attempted to make a left turn onto Ridge Street. Her car then collided in the intersection with the Ruscio vehicle which was traveling north on Ridge Street. Police said both drivers stated the traffic light was green in their direction. Mabelle Hammond MID GRANVILLE Mabelle Hammond, 85, died Thursday (Dec. 23, 1982) at the Emma Laing Stevens Hospital, Granville, aftr a long illness. Born July 14, 1897, in Middle Granville, she was the daughter of Frederick and Henrietta (Ives) Hammond.

Miss Hammond was a retired dress maker, working in the Glens Falls area for many years. Survivors include: two brothers, Everett G. and Willard F. Hammond, both of Middle Granville; a sister, Ava Hammond of Middle Granville, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at the convenience of the family.

The Rev. Arthur Weisser will officiate. Spring interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Middle Granville. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert M.

King Funeral Home, Granville. Ricky Merrill TICONDEROGA Ricky Merrill, 38, of Abercrombie Street, died Wednesday evening (Dec. 22, 1982) of injuries suffered in an automobile accident. He was a corrections officer, at Great Meadows Correctional Facility at Comstock. A veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, Mr.

Merrill had been active in the Little League. Survivors include: his wife, Joanne (MacDougall) Merrill; a son, Ricky; a stepdaughter, Valerie Jordan; his mother, Mrs. Eleanor Merrill, all of Ticonderoga; two sisters, Cheryl Dement and Diane Merrill, both of Texas. Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at the Connery and Gunning Funeral Home, Ticonderoga.

The Rev. James Kelly, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. There will be an honor guard of corrections officers, who will meet at the funeral home at 6:30 tonight. The family has suggested that memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Ticonderoga Little League. F.

Earl Toleman SALEM F. Earl Toleman, 87, of Salem died Wednesday (Dec. 22, 1982) at Pleasant Valley Infirmary, Argyle. Born Sept. 10, 1895, in Salem, he was the son of.

Frederick and Abby (Barnes Toleman. He operated Toleman's News, Salem, for 26 years. Mr. Toleman was Salem correspondent for the Salem Press for 22 years. A veteran of World War he was a charter member of Post 812, American member Legion, and a life Paul's Episcopal Church had served as treasurer, vestryman and senior warden.

Survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Marian Coffinger and Mrs. Dorothy Christensen of Salem and Mrs. Florence Brooks of Schuylerville; a sister, Mrs. Alice Collins of Romulus, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-granchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Paul's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Guy Kagey. Spring interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Salem.

Union helps needy. International Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU) members and employers have helped, to make it a Merry Christmas for nine families and 23 patients in a nursing home. At a District Council meeting in October, Judy Conley, business agent, said people are fortunate to have jobs because the economic conditions in this country have caused many layoffs and many families will have little or no Christmas this year.
