Roswell Earl at a meeting of the Village Board of Trustees last night in Village Hall. This marks the second year for the affair, which is sponsored jointly by the Village Board and the Hudson Falls Chamber of Commerce. The party will start at 10 a.m.

Announcement was made of public hearing of the Zoning Board of Appeals on Thursday at 8 p.m. at Village Hall called on the appeal of Vernon Williams, 99 W. The service will present as guest preacher, Dr. Jack Cooper, general presbyter of the Presbytery of Albany. Prior to his post with the Presbytery, Dr.

Cooper was pastor of the State Street Presbyterian Church in Schenectady. Special music for the service will be provided by a combined choir member churches. Under the direction of David Fisher, the choir will sing "I See His Blood Upon the Rose," Robertson. Choir rehearsal will begin at 7.p.m. at the Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. William Aubrey will be at the organ and will play prelude, "If Thou But fer God to Guide Thee," Newmark; offertory, "Prayer," Beethoven; postlude, "Supplication," Schreiner. The pastors of the local churches will share in the leadership of the worship. The offering received will be used for the work of the Council of Churches. This is the first event in the Lenten calendar of united observances which will include a series of significant movies to be shown on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m.

Frank Pountain, civil defense deputy director for the town of Moreau, and Saratoga County, will show 0.0.D. film titled "The Town of the Times" starring Ralph Meeker. It WAS shot in White Plains, and depicts the controversy in a typical American community over the question of establishing public shelters in' schools. It demonstrates also the happy ending that can be achieved through concerted community action behind such a project.

Unit Sets Meeting Investiture Held By Girl Scouts Girl Scout Troop 11 held an investiture service recently at the South Glens Falls Methodist Church.

Sale to Be Held By Rosary Society A white elephant sale will be held Saturday from 10:30 a.m.

Guests at the meeting were Mrs. Clifton Sprague and Mrs. Joseph Porter. Bill Ellsworth instructed the club on how to tie a bow line knot. Mr.

Ellsworth will teach additional knots useful to horsemen. A taok party will be held by club members on Feb. 15 from 3 to 8:30 p.m., at which they will clean saddles and bridles and other tack. Benson was a former justice of the peace of the Town of Day, and a trustee of the Lake Luzerne Central School District. He had worked as a laborer in a Conklingville saw mill for many years. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Frank Schermerhorn, of Fort Edward; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Flora Palmer, of the Town of Day; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Densmore Funeral Chapel, 7 Sherman Corinth, by the Rev. H. Borden Adams, pastor of the Rockwell Falls Presbyterian Church of Lake Luzerne. Interment will be in the Conklingville Rural Cemetery, Town of Day, in the spring.

OPERA PRODUCER DEAD NEW YORK, Feb. 11 (P) Samuel Chotzinoff, 74, producer of National Broadcasting Company's operas, died Sunday night in New York Hospital. Joseph Pender Dr. Joseph C. Pender, chairman of the Washington County Heart Chapter, has announced the names of area Heart Fund chairmen. Appointed to leadership posts in Argyle were co-chairmen Mrs. Gordon McEachron and Mrs.

Merritt Reynolds. Mrs. William Bazan will begin her second year as Heart Fund chairman in Fort Ann, and Mrs. Arlene Abbenante and Mrs. Lawrence son will chair the Heart Fund in Hartford.

Upon announcing the appointments Dr. Pender noted that the efforts of these chairmen and their fellow workers will help make possible the research programs of the American Heart Assoc. and the programming of the local heart chapter. At the present time the Washington County Heart Chapter is gaged in the board programming fields of professional and lay education, but more specifically the chapter is dedicated to the area of penicilin prophylaxis for the prevention of rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease. 227 children in Washington County have received the benefits of the program and of the life-giving drug.

With heart Sunday being Feb. 23 and the focal point of the Heart Fund for the entire nation, all of' the local chairmen will observe heart Sunday Week from Feb. 21-28. During this period scores of volunteers will seek assistance for the Heart Fund. Additional and new volunteers are invited to participate in the campaign and may offer services by contacting the chairmen in their township or village.

Sports Film Shown At Rotary Meeting A military film on sports, including boxing, ice boating and curling, was shown at weekly luncheon meeting of the Hudson Falls Rotary Club yesterday noon in the Kingsbury Hotel. Fred Collins, president of the Falls Chamber of Commerce, announced the annual banquet will be conducted Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Hudson Falls High School at 7 p.m. with F. Earl Bach, president of the First National Bank of Glens Falls, 88 speaker.

ASH WEDNESDAY MASSES Ash Wednesday Masses will be celebrated in St. Mary's Church at 6:45 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Distribution of the Ashes will take place before and after both Masses, and also at 3 and 7:30 p.m. During the Lenten season, daily Mass will be celebrated at 5:15 p.m.

Arvid O'Connell and Mrs. Thomas Duffy have been named co-chairmen of the 1964 Heart Fund campaign in the Town of Fort Edward with the drive being conducted during the month of February. The appointments were announced by Dr. Joseph C. Pender, chairman of the Washington County Heart Chapter, Upon making the appointments Dr.

Pender noted that funds derived from the annual campaign are used to support the works of the American and of the local Heart Chapter with 67 percent of all funds raised remaining in the county to support chapter programming. With a goal of $1,550 in mind, Mrs. O'Connell and Mrs. Duffy are planning a Heart Sunday Week from Feb. 21, 28 with the focal point, Heart Sunday, being Feb.

Water report from Superintendent Henry Driscoll was read and approved. A request from Donald Flint, Spruce and Maple seeking slow traffic sign for the corner of Spruce and Brook was added to others planned for this spring. A letter of commendation was read from Donald E. Bain, State Conservation Officer, thanking the Village Board for its cooperation in last fall's fire ban during the dry period. Residents were reminded of the Village Election planned for March 17 and the annual Grievance Day set for Feb.

18 at Village Hall from 1 to 6 p.m. The board discussed the underground exploration work currently under way at Derby Park to locate additional water suppiles for the village. Proposals are now being accepted for opening on Feb. 24 the board concerning demolition and removal of the old apartment house owned by the village and located at Main and Depot Sts. Specifications for its removal have been prepared for the village by Rist, Bright and Frost of Glens Falls.

Sportsmen Conducting Membership Campaign The annual membership drive of the Hudson Falls Fish and Game Club is now underway. Thomas M. Hanley is chairman. It is hoped by club officers to enroll all of the 1963 members and many additional members into the 1964 membership roll. Chairman Hanley suggests that all 1963 members desiring to continue their membership contact him or any officer of the club.

It is only with a large membership, Mr. Hanley said, that the club is able to maintain recre-1 ation grounds which are available to the public. Considerable improvement to the roadways in the grounds and to the rifle range was made last summer, and additional improvements are planned for the coming summer. One of the long range projects of club members is erection of a clubhouse on the property. A meeting of the club will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m.
